Trade mark searching on ATMOSS just took a big step forward. Until now, typing a trade mark into our search box sent you across to IP Australia’s system to view your results there. As of this week, trade mark results appear right here on the page, live from the official register, the moment you hit search.

That completes the set. Trade marks now work exactly like our patent, design and Plant Breeder’s Rights searches, which means you can check all four types of Australian IP rights from a single search box without ever leaving the site. Below is a tour of each search in action, with links so you can try them yourself.

What you’ll see

Type a brand name, a word, or a trade mark number into the search box on our home page or trade marks page. Within a couple of seconds you’ll get a clean list of matching marks, and each result shows you the essentials at a glance:

• The trade mark name and, where the mark includes a logo or stylised text, an image of the actual mark

Trade marks

Search the full Australian trade mark register by brand name, word or number on the Trade Mark Search page or straight from the home page. A search for “coffee” returns over five thousand live marks, complete with logos, classes and registration status, before you’d have finished loading most other lookup tools. The official Australian Trade Mark Search offers word, image and owner search types with plenty of filters, which is exactly what IP professionals need and more than most brand owners want to learn. Here you just type and look.

Patents

The Patent Search page covers Australian patent applications by number, invention title or keyword. Each card shows the application number, type, filing date, applicants and a status badge, so you can tell a fresh provisional filing from a granted patent at a glance. If you need more precision there’s a structured search on the same page for combining title, applicant, status and date ranges, no query syntax required.

Designs

Registered designs protect how a product looks, so pictures matter. The Design Search page shows the actual design representations as thumbnails right in the results, alongside the Locarno classification, filing date, owner and status. That makes visually scanning a product category genuinely quick, where the official workflow tends to mean opening records one at a time.

Plant Breeder’s Rights

PBR is the quiet achiever of Australian IP, protecting new plant varieties for breeders and growers. On the Plant Breeder’s Rights Search page you can look up a variety, species or breeder and see the variety name, botanical name, application number, received date and current status in one clean list.

Why this is easier than searching anywhere else
